Cleaning the skin requires specialized chemistry, which differs from other detergents in terms of composition and method of application.

In most cases, the skin is cleaned using neutral or weakly alkaline foam cleansers. Means for cleaning the skin are applied to a soft brush, distributed over the surface, rubbed and, together with the separated dirt, collected with a napkin.

Depending on the particular cleaner taken, it may or may not be required to rinse the surface with water.

Another, no less common variety is a cleanser-conditioner – a product that combines both cleaning properties and components that provide care. Usually, such products are sold in the form of milk, and are used in approximately the same way as foam for cleaning the skin, only they require an additional stage of processing – the so-called “polishing” with the help of a napkin.
